I would like to make a formal complaint regarding a warning and jail punishment I received today for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a gang HQ/ghetto area.
My ID is 1061 – JoJo Skie.
The vehicle in question was left unattended and running. Before taking the vehicle, I searched the surrounding area and could not see anybody nearby. My understanding was that I was allowed to take/move the vehicle out of the HQ area as the car was running and not turned off, as the Gang HQ is not displayed as a safe zone on the map.
I later found out that the vehicle belonged to admin Alvin Mayt. From my perspective, Alvin was not present in the area when I took the vehicle. Because of this, I don’t understand how it could immediately be determined that I had broken a rule simply because he noticed his vehicle had been stolen.
I was punished with a warning and jail, from my perspective, being shown any evidence that I had actually broken the stated rule and show the pov he said he had in the support ticket.
Alvin has said that he has POV/evidence showing me stealing the vehicle and that he will provide this in the support ticket. I would therefore like to formally request that this POV is provided and reviewed as part of this complaint.
The rule I have been referred to states:
Rule 1.5:
“It is forbidden to steal vehicles from Safe Zones or Part Time Jobs. This includes ramming the vehicle outside the Safe Zone.”
My issue is that the Gang HQ is not marked as a Safe Zone on the map. It appears as a red area, and Rule 1.5 does not specifically state that vehicles cannot be stolen from Gang HQs.
As a newer player, I can only follow the rules based on how they are written and how areas are displayed in-game. If Gang HQs are intended to be treated as Safe Zones where vehicles cannot be stolen, I believe this needs to be clearly stated within the rules.
It may also be worth considering displaying the actual HQ/Safe Zone in green or otherwise clearly marking it, rather than relying on players to know that a red Gang HQ area is subject to Safe Zone vehicle rules.
I am not trying to argue against the server rules. I am asking for the punishment to be reviewed based on the rules that were available to me at the time and for the claimed POV/evidence to be provided.
If the evidence shows that I clearly violated a written rule, then I can accept that. However, if the punishment is based on Gang HQs being considered Safe Zones despite this not being clearly stated in Rule 1.5 or displayed that way on the map, I believe the warning and jail should be reconsidered.
